Jane never expected Lily Evans to come anywhere near her of her own free will. If she did, it was generally because she was scowling and yelling at Jane about x, y and/or z. It was a pity, because Jane was generally the one then approaching Lily. And she approached her at every opportunity, hitting on her ruthlessly, begging her to date her. She knew, honestly, Lily was probably as straight an arrow. But even as that truth began to hit her, Jane knew she couldn't stop. She had to keep hitting on her, making it into, like everything else, a joke. It helped cover up the heartbreak that came with the fact that she would never ever be with Lily Evans.
So Jane was on her own, her snitch neatly tucked away, one hand constantly ruffling her hair, creating that just-stepped-off-her-broom look she loved so much, though this time, it was not out of vanity, but rather concentration.
Honestly, she was enjoying a bit of silence, having dumped her boys (yes, she thought of them as hers. Jane had brought them all together. She was the ringleader, so they were hers) in favor of, actually, doing her homework.
She was good at doing her homework, she was incredibly smart- what felt like light-years behind Lily and Remus, truthfully, and sometimes she needed to get away from her friends and focus. So she'd escaped to the library (they'd never look for her here!) and spread out her books in front of her, trying to really nail down her last bit of Arithmancy work.
